Faith as small as a mustard seed...
My walk with Christ began in 2000 at the tender age of 5. I loved Jesus and my church. I was in every play, sang in the choir (as soon as I was of age), and knew everybody. It was my home and they were my family. Around the age of 8, my family moved to a different location in Ohio, therefore we stopped attending the only church I had ever known. We didn't find another good church family until February 2013. Since then, I can safely say my life has been transformed and my faith renewed. God has used Freedom Church to rapidly expand my knowledge of Him and replenish a lacking relationship with Him. I started volunteering immediately and was doing things unheard of, like...inviting people to church. I wanted everyone to experience my joy. Fast forward a year in February 2014. God placed thoughts of mission trips and gap years on my mind. They weighed heavily on my heart until I researched, talked to some people at church and then, after prayer, I applied to an organization called Global Year. A couple weeks later, after an interview, I got an acceptance letter, and into the deep I went. Things fell together so seamlessly...it definitely was a God thing. I was so overwhelmed by the support and love, that majority of the time I felt like the words "thank you" were inadequate to communicate my gratitude. I started in the beginning of March and finished July 7th. $9,000 raised in 3 long months. My God was/is a faithful God and He did it. It was by no means easy, there were plenty of prayers, tears and cries to God...but the cause was worth it. So here I am, making this blog to record my journey in El Salvador...just an ordinary girl, with an extraordinary God.
